On Jan 18 I decided to order some neodym (NdFeB) magnets from Supermagnete.ch. Neodym magnets are a lot of fun. They're super strong and are made in many different shapes. Especially fun are the spheres. I sent my order and it was very quickly processed and sent the next morning. So I started waiting. And waiting. I see I had written that we were supposed to get an 8 Mb connection... Did we get it? No. Bredbandsbolaget had promised too much. They couldn't deliver it to our house, but the logistics department apparently didn't know that, so they sent me a new ADSL modem anyway. I haven't opened the box.

Our internet connection is working again since a few days... it took three weeks. I hope it will last. The support said the technicians couldn't find anything wrong...but it's working anyway. Thanks Bostream. In a few weeks we will loose the connection again, this time for a planned free upgrade to an 8 Mb connection, thank you very much.

I'm cut off from the world, offline, disconnected. My ADSL connection at home died four days ago. It has made me think of how much I use internet for tasks such as looking up a phone number, reading the news or checking something they said on TV. Iraqi kidnappers use Google! An Australian journalist was kidnapped last weekend because they thought he worked for the CIA. Click photo to see it a tad larger. This sunset was captured on December 31, 2002 at 3.15 pm at a place called Åsa on the west coast of Sweden. It was incredibly cold that day, something like -15 C (that's 5 F for the little group of people on the other side of the Atlantic that still holds on to that system) but as I remember it, it felt even colder than that.

What's this? A fibonacci sequence on a building? Sure is, but don't ask me why. It's on Magasinsgatan in Göteborg. Maybe the last number is a telephone number, or perhaps some geeky designer have been given free hands to decorate the building. I think it looks very nice anyway.
